Boyfriend Approved Makeup Tutorial.

So my boyfriend never - I mean NEVER - comments on my makeup. He just doesn't really care what I wear. I think he would prefer it if I wear no makeup up at all! But the other day, a miracle happened - he actually stopped, looked at me, and said that he liked my makeup! Now, he has said I am beautiful before, or that I looked good. But this was the first time we actually commented on liking my makeup!

So I took this as a sign. I have been wearing this look a lot lately, and I wanted to share it all with you! The look is very dewy, pink, and bright. I absolutely love it - it is like a "you but better" look.

What's in my Kate Spade purse?

Hello. My name is Jessica. And I am addicted to my purse.

This adorable Kate Spade purse (similar here) is so "me" its crazy. If I were to be reborn as a handbag, this would be it. Its pink, and gold, and the perfect size. I am in love!!

In this bag, I am able to carry everything I would need for a normal day - my Kate Spade 2015 gold polka dot day planner, my Betsey Johnson wallet, Aldo sun glasses, my keys, and a bit of makeup. If you would like to see everything in my purse, watch this video:

Review: NEW GlamGlow Thirsty Cleanse Daily Treatment Cleanser.

Can we acknowledge, before jumping into the review, that I am posted pictures of me without makeup? The HORROR!! Haha. Ok, I just have to get over it and move on. Its all in the name of a good review, right?

I have made it known on my YouTube channel that I am not the biggest fan of GlamGlow. As a 26 year old law student with a TON of debt, spending $80 on a face mask is unacceptable. Unless it literally works miracles on my skin - like, I am talking baby's butt soft with no spots, bumps, or wrinkles - I am not buying it. I got a sample of the GlamGlow Thirsty Mud mask in a holiday kit I bought back last October, and I was SO UNDERWHELMED! The mask didn't hydrate my skin, it didn't feel luxurious. I just was not into it.

So when this GlamGlow Thirsty Cleanse cleanser came out, I was skeptical. But with a price tag of only $42 (still outrageous for a cleanser, but much more in the realm of 'possible' than the mask) I figured I needed to try it for you guys.

As you can see in the pictures, the cleanser comes out of the tube looking almost identical to the GlamGlow Thirsty Mud mask. It also smells the exact same! Actually, the smell is the only part of the mask that I was obsessed with - it is like honey and oatmeal and brown sugar. Sooooo yummy. The cleanser also goes on the skin, again, like a mask. It is thick, and is supposed to be applied to dry skin.

The magic comes in when you wash the cleanser off. With a bit of water, the 'mask' emulsifies into a foam that feels really amazing on my skin. Now, I have extremely dry skin, so I do still find this to be a touch drying - I definitely need to apply a moisturizer after I am done with this. But it just feels so nice and it hasn't caused me to break out at all. It also seems to do a really good job at taking off my face makeup. Every night, I use MAC's cleanse off oil before I use this cleanser. But even the MAC oil leaves a bit of makeup on my face. This GlamGlow cleanser removes all that left-over makeup and leaves the skin super smooth.

Verdict? I ACTUALLY LIKE IT! The price is high but not outrageous, and you get a ton of product. So far so good, GlamGlow. I am impressed.

You can buy the cleanser from Sephora by clicking here.

Let me know if you like the new GlamGlow cleansers! Also, I have a survey on my channel (click here to go directly to that post). I would love if you filled it out! The answers will help me figure out what you want to see more of on my YouTube channel and on my blog! I am here to please. Let me please you ... that sounded wrong. Take that back.

Help me create a better channel & blog.

This is the year I fully commit to my blog and my youtube.

Blogging and YouTubing were such a priority for me when I began almost five years ago (I cannot believe it has been that long). At the time, I was not in school, and was working as a waitress to make some money.  I had a ton of free time, so building my beauty channel was very important to me. Then I started law school, and I had to learn how to balance school with my channel. I have not done well with the whole balancing thing, and I think it is because I was so used to having a ton of time to commit to my content. I am and always have been, a perfectionist. In my first year online, I had entire days I could devote to one YouTube video, or one blog post. I just don't have that kind of time anymore, and I never learned about to stay consistent and upload good content with limited time.

But this year will be different. I am planning on blogging at least 3 times a week, and uploading videos twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). I am really going to do my best to stick to this schedule, so that at the end of 2015 I am happy with my progress and commitment.

SO! With that said I would love YOUR input on what you would like to see on my blog and on my YouTube channel. If you don't mind taking a quick minute out of your day and completing the following surveys (or tweeting/commenting/emailing me with any suggestions), that would be amazing! You have no idea how much it would mean to me.

Award Show Season.

January is a sad month - Christmas is over, the holiday decorations are packed away, the pretty holiday dresses are hung back up in the closet, and we now must stick to impossible resolutions (why did I resolve to lose 20 lbs, again?).  It is a very sad, glitter-lacking month.

BUT WAIT - January and February are AWARD-SHOW SEASON!! I am a sucker for award shows. You name it, I will watch it - Oscars, Golden Globes, Grammy's, MTV music awards, People's Choice (ok well actually I missed People's Choice this year).

If it has a Red Carpet, I am there - on my couch, in my jammies, eating cheese, and sipping a glass of white.

So I thought I would kick off Award Show season with the schedule of the four biggest shows coming up in the next couple of months. This is always the hard part for me - remembering to watch and knowing what channel. Luckily, I have done all the hard work for you!

So set your PVRs, and stock up on healthy-January snacks (or maybe just stock up on cheesecake), because its award time!

Golden Globes
January 11, 2015
Screen Actors Guild Awards
January 25, 2015
February 8, 2015
Academy Awards (Oscars)
February 22, 2015

And tweet with me during the award shows! I would love to chat with you about makeup, dresses, winners, losers - its all fun! My twitter is @jessicamelodyyy. The Golden Globes are TONIGHT!!  I am very excited to tweet with you then. Its way more fun to chat with girlfriends during the red-carpet than watch it alone. I will also do a round-up of the best and worst dressed on Monday morning here on my blog - so watch out for that.

Also, if you would like to see how to achieve the perfect, red-carpet, Hollywood red lip, watch this video!  Why should Angelina, Jennifer, and Emma have all the makeup fun tonight?

Fan Girl Friday: Lipgloss Leslie.

Hi loves!

Wow, this is my first post of 2015 - crazy. I had all these glorious plans for New Years Eve and Day posts I wanted to get up over the past couple weeks. Unfortunately, school once again is getting in the way- I have a 30 page essay that is due this coming Monday. So I am currently stuck, either in class or sitting in front of my computer writing. I actually do love the topic of my paper - I am writing about the International Criminal Court, and the impact it has had on world peace. Very interesting, but not about beauty or fashion, so I am thinking you probably aren't as fascinated as I am.

Over the past month or so, I have been watching a TON of YouTube videos. During exams time and over my holiday break, what I like to do when I have free time is watch YouTube. It is totally my guilty pleasure. Not only am I inspired by other girls, but I also find the world so fun! That is why I film - I really love it. And when I can't film, I watch!

Over the past month I have been LOVING LipGloss Leslie. I think she is totally amazing, down-to-earth, and lovely. What I admire about her most is her consistency - she posts on her YouTube page each and every day during the week (Leslie, if you are reading this and can pass on your wisdom on how to stay so up-to-date on videos, please share! It is my biggest weakness).  She is constantly reviewing makeup products - things I have been thinking about buying but haven't heard anything about yet. She is always one of the first gurus in my feed to review a new product. Plus she really seems like she is talking to friends. Her cute "hey guys welcome back," spoken at what seems like the speed of light at the start of her videos is adorable. And omg and her kitten Chester. I just really love her.

Totally a fan girl of Lipgloss Leslie.

Please go check her out and let her know I sent you! You will become just as addicted as I am.

Alright guys, back to the essay-writing I go. I promise there will be a bunch of belated-new years videos and posts up next week :)
