This past Saturday, I hosted a bridesmaids party for one of my best girlfriends. She got engaged a few months ago, and I thought it would be nice to get all the bridesmaids together to meet each other! (I am a bridesmaid and my boyfriend is a groomsman. I guess we will be walking down the aisle a little earlier than expected, haha!!). This wasn't a full on party - more of just a get-together. We had shrimp tacos, drank margaritas, played Cards Against Humanity, and all got to know each other.
Though the occasion definitely did not require decorations, I can't help myself. I LOVE decorating my home, and this obsession is only amplified when I know I am having guests over. I decided to go with a floral theme, and made this flower letter "A" for my girlfriend! This was SO easy and looked amazing!!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Paper mache letter (I bought this at Joann's when I was in the USA shopping a few weeks ago. It was $10. For you Canadian ladies, I am not sure if you can find this at Michael's, but I am sure you could order it online. All it really is is a cardboard letter that is hallow on the inside)
- Floral foam
- A ton of silk flowers (I bought mine from the dollarstore)
- A knife & scissors
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Take your knife and start cutting out one side of your letter. This actually was easier than I thought it was going to be. I used a serrated knife, which is SO much easier than an exacto knife. I literally stuck the knife into the letter and sawed the cardboard. There will be folded up cardboard inside the letter. Take this out so you are left with an open letter that is completely hallow.
TIP!! Don't try to cut the letter all the way to the edge - this could lead to the letter breaking. Just go kind of in the middle. Then, either bend the edges into the letter, or take scissors and cut the excess off.
2. Fill the hallow insides with floral foam (floral foam is flammable, so make sure to keep the final product away from candles or any other source of heat)
3. Stick your silk flowers into the foam. Go crazy with this!! You don't want to see any of the foam. The more flowers the merrier.
THAT'S IT!! Literally the easiest DIY ever. And it is so pretty! Everyone at the party loved it - it was a huge hit.
I hope you enjoyed this DIY. Do you want to see more of these on my blog? Let me know in the comment section below!
Also, if you would like to see pictures of the table setting of the bridal party, see yesterday's post here.

Today I have a sneaky Sunday post for you! Last night I hosted a dinner party for a few of my girlfriends. I thought I would share with you a few pictures from the table setting, as well as links to wear I bought most of the stuff!
I love home decor. I swear, it is more fun for me to dress my home than it is to dress myself!! Lately, I have been crazy into floral prints and fuchsia. If I had it my way, I would have flowers and floral prints everywhere all the time! Unfortunately, I live with a boy, so I don't always get what I want. But for this girls-only party, I decided to go all out.
- Gold Table Runner (found at Homesense, similar here)
- Pink Polka Dot Runner, Kate Spade (found at Homesense, I also love this one)
- Floral Napkins, Indigo
- White Plates, Ikea
- Bloomster White Candle Stick Holders, Ikea
- Gold Tealight Candle Holders, Target (old, similar here)
- Flower Letter "A" (I DIY'ed this! Tutorial will be up on the blog tomorrow!)
- Silver French Bulldog Statute, Urban Barn (old, same found here)
As you can see, most of what I bought was from Homesense. I love shopping there! You get the best deals on amazing things! Both table runners, and the mint decanter are all new purchases, so I am sure you can still find them in store!
Where is your favourite place to shop for home decor items? Let me know in the comment section down below!
PS: DONT FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE FLOWER "A" DIY!!! The tutorial will be up TOMORROW MORNING!

Today, I am sharing with you my all time favourite eyeshadow palette EVER!!!
Name: Tarte Tartelette Palette
Product: You get 12 neutral, matte shades in this gorgeous palette
Price: $53 Canadian (less if you live in/are buying from the States)
Where to buy: Click here for a direct link to the Sephora Website
Why is this palette so amazing?
1. The shadows are ALL MATTE.
This may seem like it would make for a boring look, but actually matte colours look so pretty on the eyes. Especially now that it is Spring, and my bold lippies are having their moment, matte eyeshadows are a must.
2. The shades are all super office approp.
Don't know what to wear to the office because it is 6:30am and you are still half asleep? ME NEITHER!! Grab this palette and pretty much put on whatever combination of shadows you would like. Seriously. Do it. It will always look good and super appropriate for the office. Well, unless you apply the matte black shade all over your lid. Not so office appropriate then.... Ok, so I guess MOST the shades are super office approp.
Also, yes, I made up the slang 'approp'.
3. This palette can be used as a companion to every other shadow/palette you have in your collection.
Did you buy a crazy glittery lavender pigment from MAC during their most recent collection? So did I. Have no idea how to wear it? Pair that crazy colour with the shades from this palette. It will create the most beautiful look.
4. The shadows are excellent quality.
One swipe of any shade in this palette reveals just how great these shadows are. The formula is amazing - crazy pigmented colour, especially for matte eyeshadows. Don't believe me? Check out the swatches above!
5. Tarte is a cruelty free brand.
Need I say more? Go hug your puppy. You deserve it, girl!
I very much recommend that this palette be on your wishlist for the next time you are indulging in new makeup products. Want a direct link to it now? Click here!

Have you ever been so excited for the launch of a designer line that you went out of the country to get your hands on it? No? Neither have I. Because that is crazy right?
Well, ask me the question again next Sunday and my answer will be very different.
Target is releasing their newest designer line for Target - and this time it is Lilly Pulitzer!! There are over 250 pieces in the line - from Home Decor, to clothing, to beauty items (yes - custom Lilly themed lipstick and nail polish, oh my!). The above are my favourites.
Check out the entire line, click here!
Target used to be available in Canada, but as you might know, they all just recently shut down. Will that stop me from getting my hands on these beauties? Nope. My mum and I are driving two and a half hours on Sunday morning (and by morning, I mean an absurdly early hour in the morning) to the USA so I can shop Lilly for Target. I could no the more excited.
My favourite piece is the pink shift dress - how AMAZINGLY adorable is it?! I am obsessed. I am reeaalllyy hoping I can find that one in my size.
Which piece from the collection is your favourite?

The last few weeks have been insane!! As you know from my last blog post, my boyfriend and I just recently moved! We are so unbelievably happy in the new place - it is a huge upgrade for us! Our lifestyle here is going to be much different than in the last place. This apartment really is our first adult home. Every other place I have lived in - besides my parents' place - has been temporary, student housing. We are both moving in to a new phase of life - finishing law school, working full time, getting called to the bar - it will all happen here in this apartment.
Needless to say, I have been obsessed with making this apartment a home. I have been buying new furniture (while staying on a budget - a blog post/YT video about that will be up later this week) and really discovering what my style is. I realize now that I LOVE mid-century modern. The clean lines and minimal design, mixed with fun pops of colour and texture is right up my alley. I also have a small obsession with finding vintage pieces and revamping them to modern day. This is especially so with anything from the 1960's and 1970's. I will be starting a new series on this blog called 'From Drab to Fab' featuring the projects I have been working on! That will also start this week.
For my first post back, though, I wanted to start with a few of my favourite new purchases for my home. I will be doing a huge 'Home Decor Haul' video for my YouTube channel which should go up in the next week or so. But for now I thought I would highlight my absolute favourites.
1. Indigo Daydream Floral Pillow
2. Home Sense Mirrored Tray (similar here; if you want a square one that is similar, this one is beautiful)
3. Ikea Ravenea Majesty Palm
4. Home Sense Blue Floral Accent Chair (I also love this Blue Wayfair Accent Chair) **this one was actually purchased by my mum ... best house warming gift EVER!
5. West Elm Gold Vase (similar here)
** As a bonus, the candle that I have been OBSESSED with since moving (it has actually been a favourite of mine for a few years now, but it is only sold in Spring and Summer) is the Bath & Body Works Tiki Beach candle. It smells like you are on a tropical vacation AND is on sale now for only $12!!
Thanks for sticking with me over the past few months. I know I haven't been posting much, but moving is hard!! Haha. You forget how much work it is until you do it again. Now that I am pretty much settled in, I am THRILLED to be back to filming and blogging regularly.

I am so happy to be blogging today!! I missed my little blog. Last weekend I was very sick and did not have the energy to film or photograph any new content. I have to build content on the weekends because I work during the week - one bad weekend and I am screwed! Haha. Not the most efficient system, but it's all I've got right now.
Today, I wanted to share with you some pictures of my very first Stella & Dot Trunkshow! I thought this would be helpful for you who are thinking of becoming a stylist, or those who are new and have yet to host/style their first show.
The party was a ton of fun! I had over a few of my close girlfriends, and we drank champagne while gossiping and trying on sparkly things. The party was just this past Saturday, so on Valentine's Day. I honestly think that nothing could be better on Valentine's Day than getting together with your girlfriends, catching up, and having fun!! I love being with my love- but we are sweet and gooey with each other all the time! My friends are the real people I need to take a day out to appreciate and have an amazing time with.
Now that I have done a trunk show in person, I want to share the trunk show with YOU online!!!

I love DIY-ing. And I love receiving DIY-ed gifts.
They are so personal and thoughtful. I try to, at least, DIY cards I give my boyfriend for Christmas or Valentine's. This year, I am so busy, I don't think I will have time. Which is sad!! But I still wanted to give you some fun ideas you can create for your love on Valentine's.
I also love arranging for something to do with my bf, instead of buying a thing. Things will often get thrown into a closet or a corner of your home, whereas memories last forever. I have bought tickets to musicals/plays, arranged an overnight trip to a nearby city, and purchased excellent tickets to his favourite basketball team. My bf, for Christmas, bought me a voucher for a professional chef to come to our home, teach us how to cook a dish, and then serve us a 5-course meal. We haven't booked to time to do it yet, but I am very excited!! Something like that is so thoughtful, and creates a memory you will have for a lifetime.
What are you getting for your loved one for Valentine's? Let me know in the comment section!

So it is that time of the month again - and no I am not talking about "lady time." It is time for my monthly favourites video! I haven't done one of these videos in a very long time. As many of you know, it has been extremely difficult for me to stay consistent with YouTube videos while in law school. However, I am really trying hard now to stick to a schedule - videos every Tuesday and Thursday (I know this video is being uploaded on a Wednesday, but that is because my iMovie wasn't letting me export the video last night. I finally got it to work at, like, 1:00am. Very frustrating).
Because I haven't filmed a Favourites video in so long, I had a TON of things to share with you. I figured the video would take forever if I ran through everything I have loved over the past few months, so I narrowed my favourites down. These products/fashion pieces are my all time faves - the best of the best for January. I 100% recommend them all! I think they are excellent.
Watch my January 2015 Favourites video here:
In the video, I chat about becoming a Stella and Dot stylist. I have a whole blog post dedicated to that - you can check it out here.
And if you would like to shop Stella and Dot, click here.
Here are the items I mentioned in the video:
- Tarte Tartelette Palette (this palette has all Matte eyeshadow shades)
- Covergirl lipstick, in Yummy Pink
- Covergirl lipstick, in Honeyed Bloom
- Fur scarf from Indigo (similar here)
- Stella and Dot Riviera necklace (in the pictures above, it is shown layered with the Birdie Necklace)

Today is a very special post. I do not usually discuss the business side of what I do on YouTube and my blog. The reason isn't because I want to hide anything from you, but is simply because there isn't much to it! As many of you know, YouTube partners do get paid for views on their videos. However my paycheck from YouTube is very small, so the beauty world has been more of a hobby to me than a business.
That said, I recently learned about a jewelry company called Stella and Dot. Stella and Dot is a jewelry and accessories company run by women. It offers women around the world the opportunity to create a business that is fun with flexible hours.
Now, many of you know that I am a law student going into a not-so-lucratic area of law. What you may not know is that I have a ton of debt, and I wanted to do something on the side to help me out. Stella and Dot seemed like the perfect opportunity for me! It is a way to stay in the beauty and fashion industry, while making money on my own schedule!
Now, let me get one thing straight right now: I ABSOLUTELY UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL RECOMMEND SOMETHING TO YOU UNLESS I 100% BELIEVE IN AND LOVE IT MYSELF. I know that many of you are like me - you also are going to school, have financial commitments, or are in debt. Your money is precious, and therefore it has been my #1 rule since starting my YouTube channel NEVER to take a paid opportunity unless I truly love the product.
With that said, I absolutely 100% love Stella and Dot. The quality of the jewelry for the money is absolutely fantastic! And all the pieces are trendy, versatile pieces that really add to your wardrobe. I literally got giddy when my first shipment of jewelry came to my door - it was better than Christmas! I have an ongoing wish list of all the pieces I want to buy, and am always checking out the Stella and Dot website. I love the company and I love the product - that is why I am sharing Stella and Dot with you.
The other cool part of me being part of Stella and Dot is that if you shop through me, I am YOUR stylist! You can message me directly on the Stella and Dot site, on instagram, twitter, or here on my blog and ask me anything you would like about how to style pieces, what piece would go with what outfit, etc. Also, if you ever have a problem with your order, you can contact me directly. I promise to get back to you within 24 hours with an answer to your problem. I am here for YOU!
If you have any questions at all about Stella and Dot, my experience as a Stylist, or how you can become a Stylist/hostess, please let me know! Also, I wonder if you guys would enjoy seeing behind the scenes looks of what it is like to be a stylist? I can share what I got in my very first order, how I did in jumpstart, and what my very first trunkshow was like. If you are interested, please let me know in the comment section :)
PPS: The above necklace is called the Birdie Necklace. It is absolutely beautiful - and its versatile! The petal portion can actually come off, leaving just the gold piece. It is so pretty and my absolute favourite piece from the Stella and Dot Spring 2015 collection.

So my boyfriend never - I mean NEVER - comments on my makeup. He just doesn't really care what I wear. I think he would prefer it if I wear no makeup up at all! But the other day, a miracle happened - he actually stopped, looked at me, and said that he liked my makeup! Now, he has said I am beautiful before, or that I looked good. But this was the first time we actually commented on liking my makeup!
So I took this as a sign. I have been wearing this look a lot lately, and I wanted to share it all with you! The look is very dewy, pink, and bright. I absolutely love it - it is like a "you but better" look.

Hello. My name is Jessica. And I am addicted to my purse.
This adorable Kate Spade purse (similar here) is so "me" its crazy. If I were to be reborn as a handbag, this would be it. Its pink, and gold, and the perfect size. I am in love!!
In this bag, I am able to carry everything I would need for a normal day - my Kate Spade 2015 gold polka dot day planner, my Betsey Johnson wallet, Aldo sun glasses, my keys, and a bit of makeup. If you would like to see everything in my purse, watch this video:
Do you have a piece of clothing or an accessory that you cannot live without, and that has changed how you style yourself every day? Tell me about it in the comment section!
